RE: Founder & CEO, Norman Lee Floyd and Veterans Deserve Help, Inc.501(c)(3)

To Whom It May Concern,

I and American Legion Post #200 have had the pleasure of Membership by Norman Lee Floyd, Founder and CEO of VETERANS DESERVE HELP, for the past eighteen or so years and I’ve personally known Norm for 43 years. This letter is to show my support for his Foundation, Veteran’s Deserve Help, Inc. Since joining Post #200, Norman’s involvement at the post, spanning eighteen years has, in part, equipped the Post with an Outstanding Member. Norm’s generosity in time of need or in need of a celebration, has helped and been enjoyed by the Post, our Members, and others in need. His instigations of charity result in action and inspiration for all of our Members and fellow Citizens to help those needing a hand or safe place to live, and more.

To Norman, it is simply what one does. He was told by his Mother as a child that he was to help others, so that is what he does. Offering to help with anything and/or his time and money, inspiring others to join in; typically, by proposing monetary ‘motion’ to pay for something himself and then ‘seconding’ it himself. Others then join in and a greater effort is put forth.

Norm’s passion and enthusiasm is contagious and his Foundation plans are purposeful and heartfelt. Norman Lee Floyd, a Vietnam Veteran himself, understands living with PTSD, which is a common condition, from the effects of Military Service.

Veterans Deserve Help shows and promotes honor and dignity to and for America’s Veterans and Military with a focused, direct solution for homeless Veterans. In brief, the Foundation’s dedication to providing homeless Veterans with work, food, clothing and a place to live; along with Mental and Addiction Recovery Supports all on one site, is a worthy cause and potentially life-saving for those it serves as well.

I would like to publicly thank Norman especially for his help, before Covid-19 hit, coming to the VA (Veterans Administration) Hospital, supporting Veteran Patients by helping taking care of snacks and Bingo strategy for the players, and visiting those in the hospital that could not make it to the Bingo events.

It is for the above reasons and more that I support and look forward to the fruitful results of this endeavor, a foundation started from the heart of a Vietnam Veteran, Norman Lee Floyd, Founder and CEO, VETERANS DESERVE HELP, Inc. 501(c)(3.)

Sincerely,

Bill

To all United States Veterans and Active Duty -- WARRIORS
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE

To Our Fellow WARRIORS:

Our Hearts are with you always. We thank you all for your Patriotic Service to our Country. As the saying goes “All gave some and some gave all” just as our LORD JESUS did. He "gave all" that we may have the promise and hope of eternal life. As we all know this Country was founded on Biblical principles and our Forefathers were all strong believers in our Lord. God has blessed America because of Men and Women like you, with your Patriotism to our Country, willingness to give your lives if necessary. Many have lost so much in the service and yet you are still willing to continue to do so even knowing the treatment that many Warriors have faced when they return home.

The feeling of guilt of killing, for many, is one of a WARRIORS greatest fears, because of the Commandment “Thou Shall not Kill” this scripture as I have counseled with many Warriors is always taken out of context, and is not during war or related to articles of war. Even in Biblical days war was at hand, and duty called for us to fight or even die if necessary, in the story of Moses GOD commands them to go in to the promise land and kill all (Deuteronomy 7.7) When the LORD thy GOD shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou. And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor show mercy unto them. Also we must understand that GOD also tells us to obey the laws of the land and those in authority, found in Romans 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of GOD: the powers that be are ordained of GOD. It is clear here that it's our duty to obey the laws and those in authority. Warriors let us assure GOD knows your hearts and you have followed his laws. GOD knows your hearts and he wants to bless you and take away your fears.

Our Warriors face so many challenges when they return home, many have lost limbs, suffer from PTSD, loss of friends, family, jobs and even their homes. The greatest tragedy they face is the treatment by Americans, yes the same people they fought for and even died for. They are treated like outcasts; even our own Government has abandoned and turned on them. They feel hopeless and many take their own lives to meet GOD before their time is up on this Precious land. It breaks our hearts to see our WARRIORS suffer and not to be taken care of or Honored for their sacrifices.

It is truly time for a change in how America and the American Government treats our Warriors. There are too many of or Warriors living in despair, homeless or without any hope. We encourage you to support our Warriors and help them as the Good Samaritan did, show compassion, lend a helping hand but most of all say THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE, every time you greet a WARRIOR.

Always remember, YOU ARE A NATIONAL TREASURE.
